    This a video clip of "Gone Postal's" second outing to a dragstrip. This film was taken at Bremerton Raceway, Friday April 30th, 2004.

    The Life of the Postal Van
    The Vehicle started life as a 1983 Grumman-Olson electric postal van. We chose this vehicle because we felt it was the most unassuming and unlikely vehicle for a high performance electric. It was originally set up as a 96 volt system with a Curtis 1221, 400 amp controller. It was a real dog with a 0 to 30 MPH of 13 seconds and a top speed of 55 MPH.

    History of the Kurbwatt Electric Postal Van
    In 1978, due to the energy crisis, the U.S. Postal Service expressed interest in using electric powered vehicles to deliver the mail. In response to this potential market, Grumman Olson embarked on a program to design and develop an all aluminum electric powered mini-van.
